I took a ride to Shop Rite and it's slippery as sh*t out ... just saw a guy coming too fast down the Betsy Ross Bridge off-ramp and he couldn't make the turn. He took a light pole out and tore the front of his truck up. He coulda killed someone.

It's not too bad, streets are passable. People just need to take it easy.

Things are about to get out of hand if the current forcast holds. 1 to 2 ft will be arriving tues night through wed w/ wind gusts to 60mph or more ...a true blizzard during the middle of the work week.

This is very "Out Of Hand"

:agree:

What is going on?

If we get 2 more feet that will be the most snow we ever had on the ground at once....

This storm here that is headed our way is exactly like the Blizzard of 96 that formed with the low pressure coming up from below us and the other storm headed from the west. Depending on the Temp & here the two storms come together, I would not be surprised if this storm is even worse!

It will be close, ..a few days after the 96 storm of 30.7 we got something like 6-7 inches. But I think that record will fall since the snow from that storm was much lighter, so it compacted more quickly.

Also, for saturday's storm and the one thats on the way the air (at least to start) won't be nearly as cold as the 1996 blizzard or the Dec 20th, 2009 storms.... which means that due to the high water content and the melting that is taking place I'm a bit worried about all the flat roofs in the city including my own.

Yea, good point. Maybe I should get my ladder and head up there to get some of it off my roof.

Not to scare anyone, But being a roofing Contractor I would look into removing some snow off roofs, Iam sure the snow roof load was not desingned to hold that much of snow. Up in the Mountains where I live we have a code of 35lb live load. just a thought

Yea, the roads that were cleared minus Lefevre were way, way, way better then I thought, just WET.

The other streets (side streets) were horrible!!!

There are mountains of snow in home depot/shop rite parking lot that are so large, I never seen anything like them.

LOL, They will prob be there until early may, LOL.

Does anyone live near Buckius & Almond, Fillmore & Almond, that area? Want to know whether driving/parking will be manageable for the members of Emanuel who don't live in the 'Burg. I'll probably swing by there Saturday morning and check things out.

Just as an update, services at Emanuel are cancelled for Sun, Feb 14, due to the condition of the streets around Emanuel and the lack of cleared parking spots.
