In addition, a river road will provide a new route for vehicular traffic in Bridesburg, as well as provide access points for new housing and public recreation along the water.

Our councilwoman wrote an opinion piece in one of the community newspapers in her district which includes Bridesburg. It doesn't reveal anything new but she recaps what the development means for our area.

This article is 4 years old. Economic times were different and so was the Philadelphia hierarchy.

Doubt you'll see any of this in our lifetime

We definitely won't see any action with Westrum on tyhe Coke property. A rep from DRCC told BHS that project is as good as dead and the only building projects we'll see are like the ones on Bristol and Juaneata Streets, small stips of vacant ground developed into a few row houses.

On the other hand, DRCC was optimistic about Delaware Ave being extended to at least Orthodox street.
